
The Rental Option area in Prestartr is your central hub for managing the default invoice line descriptions for rental contracts. It provides visibility and control over both wet hire and dry hire invoices.
Updating Rental Invoice Line Item Descriptions

The Rental Option area is split into two sections: Wet Hire and Dry Hire.
While separate, the instructions below apply to both areas.
You can customize the default line item descriptions for Wet and Dry Hire invoices using a combination of free text and dynamic data segments.
To start using these features, in the Rental module, access the Rental Option area. Each section has its own text field for editing the invoice description.

To the right of each field is a list of available Data Segments (e.g., {{contract.company}}, {{contract.job}}).
These are placeholders that will automatically pull specific information into the invoice description.
Click on any Data Segment from the list to copy it to your clipboard.

Paste and Arrange: Paste the segment (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V) into the description text field.
You can also type your own text directly into the field. Combine free text with data segments to create your desired format. A live preview below the text field will show you how the description will appear on an invoice as you make changes.

When you are finished, click the Save button in the upper-right corner to apply your new description template.
