The Cost Estimate dashboard is where you'll find a list of all cost estimates in the system, each displaying important details such as the cost estimate name, method, status, due date, and what the cost estimate is linked to.
Quick action icons let you easily edit or delete any cost estimate.
To help you find specific cost estimates quickly, a search bar is available at the top of the screen. You can also create a new cost estimate at any time by clicking the plus (+) icon, giving you a fast and intuitive way to manage financial records as your work progresses.

The Cost Estimate Dashboard Explained
There are three major areas of the dashboard:
- Add Cost Estimate - this is where new cost estimates can be created.
- Search - this is where you can search cost estimates.
- Cost Estimate list - this is where your cost estimates are displayed.
Search and Linked To
Use the Search field to locate a Cost Estimate from the list based on your searched term.
The Linked To column will display what Work Order a Cost Estimate is linked to - clicking on the text in this column will take you to the Work Order.

Cost Estimates in Prestartr
The following sections will guide you through how to manage a Cost Estimate.
There are settings associated with Cost Estimates - see Finance Catalogue for more details on these settings and how to configure them.
✎Edit
To edit an Cost Estimate, click the pencil icon on the far right of the cost estimate list.
It will navigate you directly to the edit mode of the desired cost estimate.

On the Edit Cost Estimate screen, you have access to a multitude of options:
- Estimate Method (Itemised, Summary, Lump Sum, or Task)
- Customer
- Name
- Invoice Issue Date
- Invoice Due Date
- Address
- Attention To
- Reference
While editing an Cost Estimate, you can also add Attachments, Line Items, and Line Headers.
🗗 Duplicate / Print

Click the overlapping square button to the left of the Print button to Duplicate a Cost Estimate.
Click the Print button to generate a PDF of the current Cost Estimate.
This can be done while viewing or editing a Cost Estimate.
Statuses
Open
Cost Estimates, when created, are set to the Open status. When it is ready to be confirmed, you can click Confirm Cost Estimate. This will update the status.

Confirmed
When a Cost Estimate is set as Confirmed, you can either Reset to Open, Approve Cost Estimates, or Create Work Order Tasks.

Approved
Once Approved, you can still Create Work Order Tasks or Reset to Open.

🗑Delete
To delete a Cost Estimate, click the rubbish icon on the far right of the Cost Estimate list.
You will be prompted to confirm the deletion.
A deleted Cost Estimate is removed entirely and cannot be retrieved.

While Editing a Cost Estimate, click the rubbish icon next to Print to Delete the cost estimate.
